Welcome to Stylist.ie

Hello, Cathy O'Connor here, I am delighted that you have stopped by to check out my style page.

A little about me, if I may, I have loved clothes since my first nappy, even at that tender age, I longed for for more stylish options. Where was the Spring / Summer floral print version?

L.A. Discovery

Ah, the joy of a discovery .. at least, that’s how I felt when I went to the Megane Le Fay shop on Montana Avenue in Santa Monica.  Clothes suspended from the ceiling, delicious mixtures of texture and patterns – delicate lace with masculine wool, Breton stripes with floral prints. Strong architectural lines but with a very feminine edge. Think NYC street style …. Enough talk, here are the pics.

L.A. Style

I do love to people watch and where better to while away some hours, than in sunny California.

Of course, as fashion is my thing, that’s what I’m really watching!  Los Angeles is such an enormous place, so every area has it’s own style identity.

Today, I was at the beach area of  Santa Monica. The style here is very relaxed, easy layers of draped cotton, cute fedora hats, denim shorts, floral dresses, gladiator sandals and sunglasses of every kind.

The Magnificient Hatter – Loraine Dominican

I adore hats and will wear them – yes, at the drop of a hat!

One of my favourite milliners is Irish Designer Loraine Dominican. Her label Mes Petits Chapeaux had all the elements one might like in a hat or fascinator – creative, quirky and individual. Here are some of my favourites. Check her out at www.lorainedominican.com

I’m no model but you get the idea!

So, you love clothes, you love style, you care about how you look and yet, at times, you feel you haven’t got the look right, you are not as confident about your style as you would hope. Sometimes, you feel like you’re stuck in a ‘style – rut’ and don’t quite know how to update your style. Your wardrobe is packed with clothes, but when it comes to it, you feel like you’ve nothing to wear!

Corporate Workshops

Showing appreciation of your clients and staff is a gesture that is much appreciated. For the corporate sector, it can be quite a challenge to devise an event from which your female clients and staff will really benefit.

Cathy has hosted numerous style workshops for the corporate sector which have been an enormous success. The events are tailor made to suit your clients, some including fashion shows and demonstrations. The workshops are practical, informative and educational. About Me

Hello, Cathy O'Connor here, I am delighted that you have stopped by to check out my style page.

A little about me, if I may, I have loved clothes since my first nappy, even at that tender age, I longed for for more stylish options. Where was the Spring / Summer floral print version?

That desire for style has remained with me and I'm very fortunate to work in an area that I'm really passionate about! My days are spent looking at rails of clothes and accessories, magazines, fashion shows and style sites on the web.

I have conducted style workshops and hosted fashion shows hither and yon in Ireland and London. Over the years, I have styled just about every glamorous woman on television and am called on to comment on trends and promote fashion lines for TV3's Ireland AM and Xpose.

It continues to be a joy.

Style and fashion is the world I live in. Join me, if you would.
